BO gleder seg over å invitere til åpningen av Roderick Hietbrinks Everything Yellows.
Med humor, absurditet og uhygge inviterer Roderick Hietbrink publikum til å reflektere rundt motsetningspar som liv og død, og det naturlige og det kunstige.
Tre nye skulpturelle verk opptar hvert sitt rom i BOs lokaler. Gamle akvarier, som i tidligere liv huset fisk og andre sjødyr, står i sentrum. Hvert av disse har siden blitt transformert til en form for meta-rom; rom som gir gjenlyd av livet slik en kan forestille seg det i en fremtidig fortid. Med inspirasjon fra Michel Foucaults konsept Heterotopia, skaper Everything Yellows rom som samtidig er fysiske og mentale, ekte og utopiske.
Roderick Hietbrink (f. 1975) bor og arbeider i Oslo. Han er utdannet ved Kunstakademiet St. Joost i Breda og Piet Zwart-instituttet i Rotterdam. Tidligere soloutstillinger inkluderer Roderick Hietbrink på RAKE i Trondheim, Soil, My Innards på Kunsthall Oslo og The Living Room på Stedelijk Museum i Amsterdam. Utover dette har Hietbrinks arbeider vært vist i en rekke gruppeutstillinger ved blant annet Nasjonalmuseet, den 33. Sao Paulo-biennalen, Oslo Kunstforening, LIAF og den 5. Moskvabiennalen. Hietbrinks arbeider er ervervet av blant andre Stedeljik Museum i Amsterdam, Museum Voorliden Wassenaar og det nederlandske utenriksministeriet.

BO is excited to welcome its audience to the opening of Roderick Hietbrink's Everything Yellows.
With humor, absurdity and the uncanny, Roderick Hietbrink invites the audience to contemplate and reevaluate life and death, nature and artifice. Three new works have come to occupy each their room in the gallery. Used aquariums, that in a previous life contained fish and other marine animals, take centre stage. Each has been transformed to a form of meta space, containing echoes of life in a future past. Drawing inspiration from Michel Foucault’s concept of Heterotopia, Everything Yellows creates spaces that are simultaneously physical and mental, real and utopian.
Roderick Hietbrink (f. 1975) lives and works in Oslo. He holds an MFA from the Piet Zwart Institute, and an BFA from the Academy of Fine Arts St. Joost in Breda. Former solo exhibitions include Roderick Hietbrink at RAKE in Trondheim, Soil, My Innards at Kunsthall Oslo, and The Living Room at Stedelijk Museum i Amsterdam. Additionally, Hietbrink's works have been displayed in a number of collective exhibitions at venues such as the Norwegian National Museum, the 33rd Sao Paulo Biennial, Oslo Kunstforening, LIAF, and the 5th Moskva Biennal. Hietbrink's work has been collected by the Stedeljik Museum in Amsterdam, Museum Voorliden Wassenaar and the Royal Dutch Foreign Ministry
