We all have a story. In fact we each have many stories.

Within these stories we set roles for ourselves – I am a man, nurse, woman, waiter, husband, activist, wife, artist, father, entrepreneur … it’s different for everyone.
Sometimes these roles can be useful to remind us of our responsibilities. However, it is human nature to invest heavily in these roles which can lead to unhelpful ways of behaving and thinking. Ways that are destructive to ourselves and the world around us.

In the workshop, The Stories We Tell, Craig uses guided visualisation and meditation exercises, inviting each participant to look at a story in their lives where they see themselves in a certain role within a situation e.g. as a victim in a dispute at work or as someone causing hurt in a personal relationship.

With the ‘story’ of their choice, they are guided to see that story from different angles – to see how the mind can create separation in their situation and how this can relate to our story of separation, including our relationship with the earth.

The session finishes with a compassion meditation to open the heart and dissolve any shame that has arisen, encouraging the participant to leave the session with a more compassionate, nuanced version of their story.

Tools required for each participant: Writing paper and pen. Open to everyone, no experience required.
