KAREL FLORES (NY)
Karel Flores was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico into a family of artists. From very young, Karel was exposed to both acting and dancing. Karel trained with the best company in Mexico; “Salsa con Clave” directed by the world-known Víctor and Gaby. After a trip to New York she was invited to join the famous group, Yamulee, where she become Osmar Perrones official dance partner.
Years of training and hard work has allowed Karel to become a world wide known top dancer and instructor. With Yamulee dance co., as the director’s former partner and female lead dancer, and now, both as a solo artist, instructor and choreographer, Karel has traveled and conquered hearts and stages from North to South America, Europe and Asia.
JAZZY RUIZ (Guatemala/Norway)
Jazzy started his dance carrier at the age of 5 in his parents dance school in Guatemala, where he got a general education in jazz, modern, ballet, breakdance, hip hop, latin jazz, flamenco and other latin dances such as salsa, cha cha cha, mambo, afro-cuban and show dance. He started teaching at the age of 15 years old.
Jazzy moved to Norway in 1999, and in 2003 he graduated from The Norwegian College of Dance (Norges Balletthøyskole), and from there he continued his education in Cuba with afro cuban and popular latin dance at Conjunto Folklorico Nacional de Cuba" and "Ballett Nacional de Alicia Alonso" in Havana, Cuba.
Jazzy has since 2001 represented Norway at international congresses, festivals and championships in over 52 countries. He has been in different TV programs as a choreographer and dancer, such as "So You Think You Can Dance", Skal Vi Danse and Stjernekamp.
He is the founder, main instructor and academic leader of Norways Largest Salsa & Latin Danceschool, Salsakompaniet.
