Nasjonalmuseet X Collective Launch // Collective Festival 2018

  • Brynjulf Bulls plass 2, 0250 Oslo, Norge (map)

Welcome to the opening of the exhibitions at Mellomstasjonen for this years Collective Festival. This opening is free and open for everyone.

THE BORDER EXHIBITION
This is our exhibition including the new frontiers of fashion art. This years artists are Extraweg, Sharna Osborne, Nate Walton and Maria Pasenau.

EXTRAWEG
Oliver Latta is a berlin-based motion designer and illustrator, his work features groundbreaking 3D, 2D and live action imagery that challenges your idea of reality. His grand online following confirms his admiration with technology and the ability to formulate art through modern culture.

NATE WALTON
This LA-based photographer captures intimacy and closeness in an anonymously provocative way. His work features familiar emotions and situations of sexuality, the female body, and fragments of everyday life, captured in a new and innovative way.

SHARNA OSBORNE
Sharna Osborne is a New Zealand born artist and filmmaker working in London, her extremely particular eye for detail has resulted in her making visuals for Raf Simons, Vetements, Martine Rose, Craig Green and Charles Jeffrey - Loverboy to name a few.

MARIA PASENAU
Maria is one of Norway’s freshest new talents in the world of photography. Her interpretation of youth, culture and relationships are unique, raw and unpolished, whilst the messages are honest and heavily loaded with personality. Maria has established herself as one to watch in the Oslo-scene, despite her young age.

THE OFFBEAT EXHIBITION
This exhibition has the purpose of lifting young Norwegian talents. For this year we have an extensive collaboration with Edda Gimnes, Kit Wan and Epson.

EDDA GIMNES
You might have seen her work on the runway or on international celebrities like Gigi Hadid, but Edda Gimnes is more than just a designer - her work features 2D illustrations of clothes and almost paperdoll like silhouettes in striking colours and fabrics. She was even nominated for this year’s prestigious LVMH prize.

KIT WAN
Originally from Hong Kong, Kit Wan has recently finished his MA degree in fashion design in Oslo. His work features disturbingly satisfying graphics and volume, explosive colours and details. Kit Wan’s abnormal use of everyday elements like buckles, drawstrings and straps are what grasps our attention and makes his designs stand out, rather than blending in.

JUST LOOMIS
Just Loomis is an american photographer from Reno, Nevada who’s a long-life friend of Helmut Newton and started his career in the early 80s. His work has been featured in some of the world’s most renowned fashion magazines. Just Loomis is truly a fashion photography veteran and his work speaks for itself.

DUSAN RELJIN
This Serbian-born, New York-based photographer assisted Craig McDean during his early years in the fashion photography industry. His work has been included in the Museum of Modern Art exhibition ‘Model as muse’, whilst his commercial and editorial work for brands like YSL, Gucci, Helmut Lang and Nike truly expresses his ability to communicate through images.

BERGLIND RÖGNVALDSDÓTTIR
Berglind Rögnvalds is an Icelandic camera based artist, living in Oslo. She engages the audience with a feministic voice, and her works are usually focused on women and their stories. In her works Berglind has previously tackled issues such as the female nipple, the #metoo campaign, medias obsessions with sexualizing the female body and finally motherhood.
